This one week course offers you an A-Z of producing your first piece of fringe theatre. From working out what’s the best business model for your group or organisation, to planning your production and finding a venue, to budgeting, grant applications, fundraising and marketing.
The course is made of up of five separate sessions:
Day 1 – STARTING A THEATRE COMPANY
Day 2 – PRODUCTION PLANNING
Day 3 – BUDGETING YOUR SHOW, AND FUNDRAISING FROM INDIVIDUALS
Day 4 – FUNDRAISING FROM ORGANISATIONS AND THE ARTS COUNCIL
Day 5 – MARKETING AND PR FOR LIVE PERFORMANCE
Cost
Each of the separate days can be booked as an individual stand alone workshop or booked as a whole week.
Individual sessions – £60
Full Week – £240 (5 days for the price of 4)
50% off for any additional places booked by members of the same company (i.e. £30 for individual sessions or £125 for the full week)

Workshop Tutors
Flavia Fraser-Cannon was, until recently, the in-house Producer and Head of Marketing at Theatre503. Flavia produced and curated regular short plays event The Miniaturists 2006-2013 at Arcola Theatre, Southwark Playhouse, The Liverpool Everyman and Latitude festival. She was a member of the core team at Guerilla Science 2010 – 2013. She was awarded a Society of London Theatre Stage One apprenticeship bursary in 2008 and worked for over a year for West-End producers ATG, Mark Goucher and Mark Rubinstein Ltd on shows such as Sunset Boulevard, West Side Story and La Clique. Buffy Sharpe has trained and tutored in Enterprise Start-up, Creative Thinking, Creative Businesses and Social Enterprise for the Prince’s Trust, Keeping it Simple Training, In-Biz and the Hammersmith and Fulham New Deal for Communities; she is also a librettist and playwright and runs a successful opera production company, Eclectic opera.
