Setting up a new theatre company can be one of the most exciting steps in your career – but there’s also a lot to think about! This workshop offers an introduction to the basic areas you need to think about when setting up a new company – if you’ve ever wondered if you should become a charity, limited company or partnership; what your obligations are as an employer or if you need to set up a company at all – this will be the workshop for you. Workshop includes:

– Equal Opps and Other Policies
About Sills Exchange
Skills Exchange workshops are organised by Finger in the Pie’s sister organisation Artists Anonymous. They are there to help creators of live performance who have identified a gap in their skills which is preventing them from mounting the projects they desire.
Cost
Individual session – £60
Full Week – £240 (5 days for the price of 4)
50% off for any additional places booked by members of the same company (i.e. £30 for individual sessions or £125 for the full week)

Workshop Tutors
Buffy Sharpe has trained and tutored in Enterprise Start-up, Creative Thinking, Creative Businesses and Social Enterprise for the Prince’s Trust, Keeping it Simple Training, In-Biz and the Hammersmith and Fulham New Deal for Communities; she is also a librettist and playwright and runs a successful opera production company, Eclectic opera.
Alexander Parsonage is the artistic director of Finger in the Pie Theatre Company, creative director of design and publishing company Blue Pie Media, as well as working as a free lance production consultant. Alexander is also a visiting lecturer at Middlesex University.
